Apple Computer on Wednesday released a security update with fixes for two dozen problems, most of which affect only its latest Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger server and client releases. The bugs lie in various parts of the operating system software and include flaws that could enable an attacker run arbitrary code on a Mac or allow users to increase their privilege level, according to Apple's 2005-006 update.

Two of the updates also apply to Apple's Mac OS X 10.3.9 server and client releases. One affects a Bluetooth issue that potentially allows access to files beyond those stored in the default exchange directory. The other lies in PHP, a scripting language that is often used for Web development. PHP is updated to version 4.3.11.
