Antivirus software from Symantec will be offered in business computers sold by Hewlett-Packard, the companies announced Wednesday. Symantec's Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security AntiSpyware Edition will be bundled with HP's commercial notebooks, desktops and tablet PCs. After a free 60-day protection period, users can renew the service.

"Threats such as worms and Trojan horses and security risks such as spyware put business PC users in jeopardy of a variety of dangers, from lost productivity to confidential information theft," Matthew Moynahan, vice president of consumer products at Symantec, said in a statement.

Don't know but HP has been putting this dreck on their
comsumer machines for years. Nothing but a huge resource hog. It's the first thing I uninstall when I buy a Compaq or HP machine. They run much faster without it.... (Read the rest)
