IBM on Tuesday announced version 5.1 of its Client Security Software, which, in conjunction with a security chip, helps protect passwords and other data inside PCs. The new version of the software includes a roaming feature that lets a single user move from one PC to another without losing his or her credentials. The feature can be useful in areas such as health care where a single doctor may input data from a variety of desktops. The software will be available for download from IBM's Web site in May.
