Cape Clear introduced on Thursday data-integration software based on XML (Extensible Markup Language). Cape Clear Data Interchange includes tools and wizards to step people through the process of converting data in different formats to XML schemas, which are standard methods of describing XML documents.

Once document conversions are set up, the software can transport incompatible data between two applications in real time, using the XML schema as the common data format. It can also route documents to different applications, using a proposed Web services standard for process automation called Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). Cape Clear Data Interchange is sold with Cape Clear's Business Integration Suite for $75,000.
