Computer Sciences said on Monday that it has bagged a five-year, $30 million contract with Norwegian insurer Vesta to supply a wide range of information technology services. The services--in areas such as mainframes, desktops, Web hosting, distributed computing, help desk and network infrastructure--will support approximately 1,400 people.

Vesta is the Norwegian division of the Tryg Vesta Group, which provides general insurance services in the Nordic region. In May last year, the parent group awarded an $80 million IT contract to El Segundo, Calif.-based Computer Sciences.
