The Connectivity 10 suite allows organizations to securely integrate heterogeneous legacy infrastructures with Windows desktops, enabling customers to meet business continuity and corporate governance requirements. The suite continues to include Exceed (Windows PC X server), NFS Maestro (NFS protocol), and HostExplorer (mainframe connectivity).
The new Connectivity SecureTerm product joins other Hummingbird Security products -- Connectivity Secure Shell, Connectivity Kerberos and Connectivity SSL.
In the Exceed 10 PC X server, Hummingbird added a desktop sharing feature that lets users share their X Window environment with others, regardless of location.
The NFS Maestro 10 product now includes support for NFSv4, the latest version of the NFS protocol.
HostExplorer 10, which gives PC users access to mainframe, AS/400 and Unix systems, adds a new "theme manager," aimed at making migration to HostExplorer from other terminal emulators easier through packages of settings and user interface characteristics. Themes are available for Attachmate Extra!, NetManage Rumba, IBM Personal Communications and WRQ Reflection.
New features in Hummingbird Security include support for Axalto and ActivCard smart card solutions as well as the Safenet iKey USB authentication device.
The new Connectivity SecureTerm connects the Windows desktop to a Unix server. It provides users with a secure VT terminal and a secure file transfer facility, and it can run on either a traditional Windows desktop or a Web browser.
The Hummingbird products run on Windows platforms, including NT, 98, Me, 2000, XP and 2003. The SecureTerm product also supports Citrix Metaframe and Windows Terminal Server.
