Retail chain Circuit City will stop selling movies on VHS tape, according to the company. Instead, Circuit City will increase the number of movie titles it sells on DVD discs.

Circuit City representatives said that the company will continue to sell VCRs for the foreseeable future.

DVD disc sales jumped since the company started creating more space for DVDs in its stores in late 2000, indicating that consumers were more interested in movies on DVD than VHS tape. --Richard Shim, Special to ZDNet News
