On a weekly basis, ITPapers (an online library of white papers, case studies, and Webcasts operated by ZDNet) tallies the top downloaded resources for the hardware category. This week, the No. 1 paper, 3Com’s “Network Security: A Simple Guide to Firewalls “underscores the continued prevalence of enterprise security concerns. Among other things, the 8-page paper discusses the considerations in choosing a type of firewall and also the implementation of one.
Further down the list, papers from larger players like IBM and Sun Microsystems cover a wider range of infrastructure topics such as server architectures, processors, and storage consolidation.
