Following are some of the notable tech-related events scheduled for the week of Feb. 8.
One of the biggest tech happenings of the week will be more of a nonevent, as one of the nastier parts of the pestilential MyDoom virus is set to go dormant. On Thursday, computers infected by the virus are scheduled to stop launching the denial-of-service attacks that have crippled the main Web site of controversial software maker SCO Group.
The week also includes earnings reports from PC leader Dell and graphics chip leader Nvidia, plus the main trade show for the rapidly digitizing photography industry.

Monday, Feb. 9

- Computer retailer PC Mall is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 8 cents a share.
- Perot Systems sells IT services. It's expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 14 cents a share.
- Priceline.com sells discounted travel service online. It's expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 4 cents a share.
- Electronics conglomerate Royal Philips Electronics is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 49 cents a share.
- Brocade Communications Systems sells storage products and software. It's expected to report first-quarter earnings of 2 cents a share.
- Syntel sells IT services. It's expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 21 cents a share.
- Chipmaker Analog Devices is expected to report first-quarter earnings of 28 cents a share.
- Dell sells PCs, servers and related products. It's expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 28 cents a share.

Thursday, Feb. 12
- Initial Claims is the weekly total of new claims filed for unemployment compensation. The total is expected to drop to 340,000 for the week ended Feb. 7, from 356,000 the previous week.
- Business Inventories summarizes total sales and inventory for the retail, wholesale and manufacturing sectors. December growth is expected to rise to 0.4 percent, from 0.3 percent the previous month.
- Retail Sales measures total receipts from U.S. stores. Growth for January is expected to drop to 0.1 percent, from 0.5 percent the previous month. Excluding auto sales, growth is expected to rise to 0.8 percent, from 0.1 percent.
- Export Prices and Import Prices track changes in average prices for nonpetroleum and nonagricultural goods and provide an early clue to shifts in trade balance. There is no forecast for January figures.
