Yahoo has teamed up with O'Reilly Media to launch a virtual stock market game. The "Tech Buzz Game" challenges people to invest in virtual stock in technologies they think will succeed, and sell tech they think is going to flop. For instance, consumers can buy stock in podcasting, digital video recorders, or mobile technologies like 3G.

The game was unveiled at the Emerging Technology Conference in San Diego. The top three players between now and July 29, based on total points scored, can win an Apple Computer Mac Mini, a 20GB iPod or 512MB iPod MP3 player.

I like Apple products as much as the next person, but these prizes seem a little, I don't know, cheap. Anyone who wanted one already has one by now. Put a camcorder or a laptop or high end pda up there. Cheap bastards.... (Read the rest)
