The post comes with a salary of 70,000 to 80,000 pounds (about $132,000 to $151,000) per year. The new director of IT and telecommunications will be responsible for managing more than 900 users around the U.K., as well as implementing wider information and communications technology (ICT) initiatives.
A representative for Buckingham Palace told Silicon.com: "An effective information and communications strategy underpins the work of the Royal Household, and developing and implementing change programs to merge and enhance ICT will be at the heart of this role."
The job advertisement asks for applicants from the public or private sector who have held a role at "board level or equivalent" and have experience with "sophisticated user support and development functions" using desktop networked systems, mobile and networked telephony and Web-based communications.
