PocketVT gives users a secured, encrypted solution for remotely connecting to servers with their handheld devices. The software includes both the new SSH protocol and the more widely used telnet protocol. It provides support for both SSH1 and SSH2; advanced encryptions AES, 3DES, and Blowfish; and multi-level data compression.
With PocketVT, users can deploy their supply-chain, distribution, order-processing, and warehouse-management solutions over secure SSH connections, thereby greatly enhancing enterprise security and offering a gradual migration path from telnet to SSH, Pragma Systems said.
PocketVT runs on industrial handhelds from Symbol, Intermec, Casio, and other vendors, as well as PDAs from Dell, Compaq, and Toshiba. Features include barcode scanning using Symbol and Intermec devices; multi-byte character support; automatic logon; VT 100, 220, 320, 420, and ANSI emulation; and printing.
Available immediately, PocketVT sells for $99 and is compatible with all Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, and Windows CE operating systems. Pragma Systems also offers PalmVT for Palm OS devices. Trial versions are available for download.
